John Blake, Partner
John Blake, B.Sc & B.Comm, has 14 years corporate finance and private equity experience in emerging markets. He has executed transactions in Africa, China and India. John was the Africa manager for a London listed Sino-India based private equity fund and subsequently a partner in an emerging market focussed private equity fund in China, Africa and India.
His consulting and project-based experience is complimented by a history of entrepreneurship by starting, building and exiting two successful technology start-ups. John has executed transactions in the technology, industrial, media, renewable energy and natural resource sectors.
He is fluent in English and Afrikaans and is currently learning Mandarin.
Mario GR Oriani-Ambrosini, Partner
Mario is a lawyer, businessmen and politician.
A graduate of Rome University and Georgetown Law Centre, he practiced commercial law in Washington DC. in both legal and venture capital firms and constitutional law for a US NGO assisting foreign governments and leaders.
Mario has established and run businesses and companies in the United States, South Africa and Vietnam. He played a key role in one of the largest construction projects in China spanning over 10 years.
As a politician, he spent ten years in the South African government as a Cabinet Advisor, including two years negotiating and creating the current post apartheid South African constitution. He now serves as a Member of Parliament with a Committee portfolio that includes; Trade & Industry, Finance, Public Enterprise and Justice.
Paul Harrison, Partner
Paul (B.Econ) has over 15 years asset management and investment banking experience. He has a proven track record in capital raising, structuring and deal origination with a particular focus on emerging markets. After spending 16 years abroad, primarily in Australia, United Kingdom and the United States with JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank Group, Pacific Investment Management Company, State Street among others, Paul returned to Cape Town in 2010 with the primary objective of facilitating cross-border transactions into Africa. In 2011, Paul was the founding partner of a UK based private equity fund. To date Paul has consulted to several boutique asset management firms within South Africa and the UK.
